Since both Postgres or MySQL support ODBC drivers for Windows access to Drupal databases, it is possible to use a Windows front end report writer or Microsoft Excel, as they can connect to the Drupal database using ODBC.

Another possiblity is to use a product like Business Objects over ODBC to create reports.
